Spark to insight to decision · the framework behind the Sparkle name

Why we are called Sparkle

Why the name is on the door.

Before someone makes a good decision, they reach an insight. Before that insight, there is a spark.

That is where the name comes from. We want to be that spark for organisations: the moment something previously buried in dashboards or sitting in spreadsheets suddenly makes sense. The moment a CEO sees the pattern, an operator catches the anomaly, a board member feels confident enough to commit.

Data and AI are useless without that moment. You can ship the cleanest Microsoft Fabric foundation in Belgium, run governance to EU AI Act standard, build the most elegant Power BI semantic model. If none of it sparks anything in the people who have to act on it, you have shipped expensive scaffolding.

So when we set up the company, we picked the name to remind ourselves what the job actually is. The dashboards, the pipelines, the agents, the audits, the lakehouses: those are tools. The output we are hired for is the spark.

What this looks like in practice

The framing changes how we work.

We do not ship dashboards in isolation. We ship them with the people who will read them in the room. If the spark does not land in those sessions, we go back and rebuild the view until it does.

We do not drop RAG portals on auditors and hope. We sit next to one. We watch them ask their first real question. If the answer does not make them say “now I know what to do next”, the spark has not landed yet.

We do not treat AI models as the end product. The model is the carrier. The spark is what the operator sees when she opens her work-order screen on Monday morning and the model has already moved her priorities.

It is also why we stay around after go-live. The first spark is easy. Keeping a platform sparking three years in, keeping the dashboards readable, the alerts ranked, the model retrained, the team trusting the output: that is the real work. And that is where most consultancies have moved on.

The honest version

You can tell pretty quickly whether a data partner is in it for the spark or for the slide deck. The slide-deck people sell you transformation. The spark people show you the dashboard that made your warehouse foreman pick a different shift pattern, and they introduce you to the operator who actually used it.

We aim for the second one. Not always. We get it wrong, we ship things that fall flat, we have customers where the spark took six months longer than it should have. But that is the bar we set, and it is why the name is on the door.
